ABDM integration — Milestones 1, 2, 3 & 4

MediEVanta delivers ABDM integration as part of the solution: ABHA at the front desk, the patient's records linked to their ABHA and shared with consent, records from other hospitals in the history, and doctors and facilities on ABDM's registries — built to ABDM's milestones, one by one.

M1Built · ABDM sandbox testing

  • Create ABHA by Aadhaar OTP, with the patient's consent recorded
  • ABHA address and ABHA card
  • Verify by ABHA number, ABHA address, mobile or Aadhaar OTP
  • Returning patients matched by ABHA — no duplicate UHIDs
  • Scan & Share: scan the facility QR, get a token on the phone

  • The patient's consent honoured
  • Records shared securely, as encrypted FHIR

Hospitals and clinics can join as ABDM pilot sites — ask for a demo.

Today the patient's ABHA number and ABHA address are already recorded at registration. MediEVanta is not yet ABDM-certified: certification follows ABDM's sandbox exit and audit, and this page will say so when each milestone is live.

Why MediEVanta

Less paperwork, more time with patients

Most clinics and small hospitals still run on registers, loose files and a billing counter that does not talk to the doctor. Reports go missing, charges are forgotten, and the patient keeps coming back to ask for papers.

MediEVanta puts the front desk, the doctor, the ward, the laboratory and the cash counter on the same patient record — so nothing is written twice and nothing falls through.

How it works

One patient, one record, from front desk to final bill

  1. RegisterFront desk registers the patient with a UHID, ABHA and insurance.
  2. ConsultThe doctor records vitals, diagnosis and prescription; the OPD slip goes to the patient.
  3. TestLab orders are filled in; the report, with flags, reaches the patient.
  4. AdmitPick a free bed on the board; transfer and progress notes as the stay goes on.
  5. DischargeDischarge summary and slip, printed and sent.
  6. Bill & payThe bill drafts itself, posts to accounts, and is paid at the counter or online.

Part of Business Automation ERP

Your hospital and your books, in one system

MediEVanta is the hospital module of Business Automation ERP. The money it bills, the medicines it uses and the people who run it are in the same system as your accounts — no second software, no month-end re-entry.

About Business Automation ERP
  • Accounting — bills post as invoices, receipts as receipts; every figure drills down to the voucher.
  • GST — GST on bills and purchases, with the returns as reports.
  • Inventory & pharmacy stock — batch-tracked medicines and consumables, by location.
  • Purchase — indents, orders and supplier bills for medicines and supplies.
  • Payroll — doctors, nurses and staff paid with PF, ESI and TDS.
  • Roles & permissions — each user sees only what their role allows, and every change records who made it and when.

ABDM in depth

How MediEVanta implements ABDM

Each milestone explained: what it does for the patient and the hospital, and how MediEVanta builds it.

ABDM v3 APIs, directMediEVanta talks to ABDM itself — no middleware or third-party gateway in between.
One ABDM Setup screenA section per milestone, each switched on separately, so a hospital goes live step by step.
Sandbox and productionThe same build runs against ABDM's sandbox for testing, and production when approved.
Audited recordsEvery record carries who created and last changed it, and when.

ABHA — the patient's health ID

Gives every patient an ABHA at the front desk, or finds the one they already have — and registers them in seconds by Scan & Share.

How MediEVanta does it

  • Create ABHA by Aadhaar OTP — the patient's consent is recorded first; then mobile verification, an ABHA address suggested or chosen, and the ABHA card downloaded.
  • Verify an existing ABHA by ABHA number, ABHA address, mobile or Aadhaar OTP.
  • New or returning — the patient is matched by ABHA number or address, so a returning patient never gets a second UHID.
  • Scan & Share — the patient scans the facility's QR code in the ABHA app; the profile arrives, the patient is registered automatically, a token number goes back to their phone, the counter sees a live token queue, and one click starts the OPD visit.

Health Information Provider

Makes the records MediEVanta creates available to the patient — and, with their consent, to other doctors — through ABDM.

How MediEVanta does it

  • Care contexts linked to the ABHA — OPD visits, lab reports, discharge summaries and prescriptions, linked automatically when the visit is completed, the report is ready or the patient is discharged.
  • SMS deep link to the patient, and patient-initiated discovery and linking from their PHR app.
  • Consent honoured — notifications of consent granted, revoked or expired are acted on.
  • Records sent as FHIR R4 bundles to the NRCeS profiles, encrypted end to end (ECDH key exchange on Curve25519, ABDM's Fidelius scheme), and pushed with a delivery notification.
M3 In development

Health Information User

Lets the doctor see, with the patient's consent, records created at other hospitals and labs.

How MediEVanta does it

  • Consent requests raised by the doctor, stating the purpose, the record types and the date range.
  • Status tracked on the patient as the request moves through ABDM.
  • Records received and decrypted from other facilities and shown in the patient's history timeline.
  • Kept only as long as the consent allows — not beyond the permitted period.
M4 In development

Professional & Facility Registry

Confirms the doctors and the hospital against ABDM's national registries.

How MediEVanta does it

  • Doctors verified against the Health Professional Registry (HPR).
  • The facility verified against the Health Facility Registry (HFR).
  • Doctor master linked to the HPR ID, so every consultation names a registered professional.

How a patient experiences it

  1. Scan at the counterThe patient opens the ABHA app and scans the hospital's QR code.
  2. Token on the phoneTheir profile arrives, they are registered (or recognised) automatically, and a token number comes back to their phone.
  3. Straight to the doctorThe counter calls the token from the live queue; one click starts the OPD visit.
  4. Records follow themThe visit, reports and discharge summary are linked to their ABHA for their PHR app (Milestone 2, in development).

Privacy and security by design

  • Secrets protected — ABDM client secrets are stored encrypted and never shown on screen.
  • Aadhaar never stored — Aadhaar numbers and OTPs are encrypted with ABDM's public key (RSA-OAEP) and never kept.
  • Only genuine callbacks — every call from ABDM is accepted only when its signed token verifies (RS256, against ABDM's published keys).
  • Nothing processed twice — callbacks are idempotent: the same request ID is never acted on twice.
  • Consent first — ABHA creation records the patient's consent; record sharing and fetching follow ABDM consent (M2 and M3, in development).
  • Encrypted records — health records travel end-to-end encrypted under ABDM's Fidelius scheme (M2 and M3, in development).

MediEVanta is not yet ABDM-certified: certification follows ABDM's sandbox exit and audit. Milestone 1 is built and in ABDM sandbox testing; Milestones 2, 3 and 4 are in development. This page will say so as each one goes live.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is MediEVanta separate from Business Automation ERP?

MediEVanta is the hospital module of Business Automation ERP. A clinic can use it for patients, OPD and billing; a hospital gets accounts, GST, stock, purchase and payroll in the same system.

Is MediEVanta ABDM certified?

Not yet — being built to ABDM's milestones; certification follows ABDM's sandbox exit and audit. Milestone 1 (ABHA) is built and in ABDM sandbox testing; Milestones 2, 3 and 4 are in development.

How do patients get their reports?

OPD slips, lab reports, discharge slips and bills are sent automatically by e-mail and WhatsApp, each on a private link. They can also be printed at the counter.

Can patients pay online?

Yes. A bill can carry a Razorpay payment link; when the patient pays, the receipt is posted to the accounts on its own. Counter receipts work as usual.

Does it need installation?

No. It runs in a browser on a desktop, laptop or tablet — in the cloud on your own address, or installed on your own server.

How is patient data protected?

Every hospital's data is kept apart at the database level, each user sees only what their role allows, every change records who made it and when, and documents sent to patients open only on their own private link.
